Hailing from Ghana, a nation where socio-cultural barriers have historically impeded young women's pursuit of education and careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields, I was compelled from an early age to advocate for myself and dedicate myself to the empowerment of the girl child. Poor menstrual hygiene management, can lead to health problems, stigma, and absenteeism from school/work, limiting educational and career opportunities for girls. Over the years, I have advocated for menstrual health education in my local Ghanaian community by providing underprivileged young women with sanitary products and proper hygiene instruction. My current role with JF ITHAND Firm Care Foundation enables me to amplify my efforts and offer expanded support to empower young girls to attain their highest potential, especially within STEM disciplines. By addressing the multifaceted challenges, they face, we can open doors to unprecedented horizons of achievement for girls in these communities.
